DUBSTEP IN BIG BAD BRUM!

header1copyzm7

Here’s some great dubstep I discovered which originates from my home city, Birmingham, yes another Brummy connection 😉

DUB CROOKZ, like a lot of dubstep producers, were formerly Drum N Bass headz and comprise of KOGA NINJA and PINZ/ZEST.

They seem to making an impact on the scene here in the UK, already having played alongside CHASE & STATUS and some other well known names in the scene at various club nights and festivals.

They are unsigned and are looking for a label to pick them up but I think that will change soon and they’re defintely a name to watch out for.

You can grab 2 tracks below to make up your own mind!

Dub Crookz – Skeleton Dust

Dub Crookz – Horn Peddla

“DUB CROOKZ, like a lot of dubstep producers, were formerly Drum N Bass headz ”

An article in the most recent ATM magazine says that there are some producers with a foot in both drum’n’bass and dubstep camps who are now experimenting with tunes in the 150bpm range. Might try some messing in that myself and see what comes out…….
Will be interesting to see whether a new genre name gets dreamed up for this hybrid.
