Progressive Funana

Heavy H – Dodu

Whats up bassheads, it’s Dave again with some more Funana. Now I don’t like to use the term progressive, and more specifically PROG as most Progressive Rock drives me up the wall with it’s wanky synths and goofy guitar heroics, this track has some pretty spacey synths. There is absolutely no “real” accordion sounds at all, a midi track replaces any hopes of this being organic whatsoever, but it does a good job. Heavy H is from Cape Verde and like a lot of musicians on the island it seems he dips his feet into Kuduro as well. This track leans to a handful to territories including almost Yes-sounding synths doing the Angolan shuffle.

This track is from a mix by DJ Edson, so it’s beginning and end is spliced. Still pretty complete, if not fully.
