You can find out all you need to know about CELSO PINA by visiting his website HERE.  All I’m gonna say is that he is from Mexico and his music covers many different South American musical genres including Cumbia of course.  So go and look up his website for further info and to save me the pain of scribbling it all down here for ya!

You can grab these tracks though, which put a BIG sunny smile on my face!

Just picked up the new album “Sin Fecha De Caducidad”, full of collaborations (sergento garcia, lila downs, alex lora, and more)
great chill music, haven’t found a dancefloorbanger yet though…

yeah, listening to it again while waking up …
the album feels a bit like the buena vista social club of cumbia, haha

so maybe not so GB-worthy, but hey you also need wakingupmusic or hangovermusic, right?!?

Celso Pi√±a is “El Papa de los pollitos” how we said here in Mexico and it means “The Father of the chickens” i.e. he was one of the “seeds” to the nu-cumbia trend, the “Cumbia Sobre El Rio” track started all!!! made with the Control Machete crew (Toy Selectah, Pato Machete) and the Blanquito Man (also known as Zuzuku) was really fresh at that time and…. still Bangs!!!. I know i know, most of the readers know this, but just sayin he he. Saludos G.B.
