Met our bro’ Sabbo recently for the first time at the Generation Bass fest and man he’s such a cool dude and I really enjoyed hanging out with him.
That’s one of the GREAT, GREAT things about the Gen Bass fest, the networking and meeting and greeting that we do. It’s like a big family and we try to generate that kind of atmosphere throughout, and of course it comes naturally.
He sent me this track, seems like ages ago, and man I was blown away when I first heard it! He is a true multi-genre producer and is exceptional in producing quality at whatever he turns his hand to, be it Dancehall, Moombahton, Dubstep or Tropical vybz.
One thing is guaranteed with Sabbo, it’s always going to be TOP NOTCH and so it’s no surprise that he’s working with a Grammy Nominated artist!
I just have one question though, when are they going to nominate Sabbo for a Grammy?
‘Bout time’ you grummy, granny-bashing, grammy nominating peeps!
Tijuana/LA musician Ceci Bastida was recently nominated for a Latin Grammy for “Cuando Vuelvas a Caer” from latest release, Veo la Marea, which is awesome since that album was an exercise in solid songwriting and lilting, sweet vocals over kicky beats (also, the second time Diplo’s been sort of attached to a Grammy-nominated project, wild streak). Here she continues her exploration into left-field production on this collabo with Tel Aviv’s Sabbo (Mad Decent, Soulico), balancing the sweetness of her tone with dubstep’s familiar aggression and freaky wobble. Hope she wins!
