Dubstep Monday

Ferretti, back for some Dubstep (and other) tunes.

SBTRKT

SBTRKT has finally released his self-titled debut album and it is without doubt my favourite of the year so far. Seriously, buy this album, you won’t regret it. It crosses many genres and boundaries, from sub bass driven garage (a nod to early dubstep) like “Right Thing To Do”, to more housetunes such as the pure summer vibes of Pharaohs (above), and not forgetting a sprinkling of dubstep in “Wildfire” which features Little Dragon’s lead singer Yukimi Nagano.

Out on the Young Turks label – get it as soon as you can from shops, iTunes and the usual online outlets.

Silkie – City Limits Vol. 2

Really I have been spoiled over the past couple of weeks thanks to both the SBTRKT and Silkie albums finally emerging. I have pretty much had these on repeat exclusively since. This one is another must buy, Silkie brings that special brand of jazz infused dubstep that only he seems to be able to produce, along with some collaborations from Skream and Von D, both on top of their game right now.

Out on Deep Medi – this one is available in shops on CD and Vinyl, and online.

Hackman – Close

Some Future Garage for you now with Hackman. This tune is one that will get stuck in your head for days – not that that is a bad thing! I’m glad to see this guy getting some good label backing after hearing about him a while ago from the guys at the Hush House blog, he has talent.

Out now on Greco-Roman, buy it from juno here.

Emalkay – The World (ft. Lena Cullen) (Trolley Snatcha Remix)

Back to some more “traditional” dubstep now with a big remix from Trolley Snatcha of this track from Emalkay’s recent album Eclipse. Out now On Dub Police available here.

Jay 5ive & Kromestar – Wishful Thinking

I posted this one as a radio rip a few months ago so thought I would let you know it is now available to the masses here.

Dubplates

As usual time for some unreleased music from the dubstep scene – along with the usual warning that this stuff may not be of the best quality and may contain some radio chatter. Just appreciate the brand new tunes!

Quest – Espaco Bossa

Ripped from Mary Anne Hobbs’ new show on XFM this saturday – here is a new one from Deep Medi’s Quest.
