GLOBAL MASHUPS: FELLOW vs ELGATO!

THE GLOBAL MASHUPS project continues! – this means we bring couples of artists together, in Tilburg, Holland during the Incubate festival, 12-18 sept 2011. We’ll supply them with a working spot and they will work here on music for a day, presenting the results live, at night. The following day we will repeat this at another venue in Holland, WORM, Rotterdam and another one in Amsterdam called Smart Project Space.

The show will be recorded in video and audio and will be posted in your trusted GENERATION BASS of course! I’ll be presenting the participants to you this week!

Elgato is signed to the same camp as James Blake and is also known as a member from the Hessle Audio crew. What can you expect from Elgato? An amazing techno, dubstep, grime and UK garage crossover act. His latest joint was in instant smash. While many of these hybrids are going the way of aggressive fidgety bass licks and noisy breakdowns a la the Night Slugs camp, Elgato’s take on the sound is much more refined, relying on subtle rhythmic inflections and a killer groove.

Aruba’s Michael Lampe a.k.a Fellow is a menace when it comes to tropical bass. Run de Dance EP is extremely hype, and jammed packed with exotic rhythms, live sampling of carnival instruments, snarling analog synths, and hyped vocal chops. Taking elements of socca, dancehall, kuduro and carnival it’s an eccentric array of beats truly representing Fellow’s signature sound, making this one spicy melting pot of bass music!

GO SEE THIS LIVE!!!!! – FRIDAY SEPT 16th – 013, TILBURG, HOLLAND
at 01.45-02.45 as part of the INCUBATE FESTIVAL
