So we’re gonna be trawling through our archives to find what we consider to be some of our classic posts, which should highlight just how influential we might have been in the past 4 years!!
Here’s another Classic Post and this one we did way back in April 2010 on Zebra Katz, who recently blew up all over the world with his “Ima Read” track.
However, 2 years ago nobody gave much a damn about him except us.
We remember coming across his stuff on soundcloud and immediately being struck by the “Ima Read” track and some of the other stuff.
Indeed, on the “Ima Read” track on soundcloud, there was maybe 2/3 comments before we shed more light on it and we couldn’t really believe it was going unnoticed. We didn’t have our label back then but if we had, I’m sure we would have released this track if he’d signed with us.
We even say on the original post that we’d love to hear some club remixes of the tracks and hey presto 2 years later that’s what happened and the track goes global hitting all the fashion houses & catwalks. Also of course in 2011 it was picked up by Diplo & Mad Decent, again!

GENERATION BASS CLASSIC POST – 15 April 2010
ZEBRA KATZ – BAREHOP
This Kat or Zebra, is from Brooklyn and I’m hooked on his tracks but I’m not quite sure what genre to call them.
I suppose it’s a bit like BareHop – Barefoot & Hip Hop!
I just find it fascinating stuff and would love to hear some club-orientated remixes!
