cole stations

Cousin Cole goes deep, Captain Planet circles the globe & SwaggleRock keeps it gully!

This week I have three totally different mixes for yall, but all of them are pretty tight.  First up is something very fresh from my homie Cousin Cole.  If you’re a fan of Baltimore Club music (like me) then you’re probably familiar with a few of Cole’s remixes, if not perhaps you know him from his recent Moombahsoul tracks featured on the “So Emotional” mixtapes.  OR you might know him as one third of the Moombahton Maxxin crew here in NYC, where I will be tonight eating tacos and empanadas.  (Happy BDAY Reck!!)  This mix is a great example of what happens when bass music meets soulful grooves.  It’s a funky, fresh, heavy and at times tender.  Put it in your headphones and enjoy!!!

The next mix is an amazing collage from one of the best DIGGERS in the game.  Captain Planet (aka Chuck Wild) lives up to his name on this mix bringing us on an amazing musical journey covering all types of international grooves and funky, dusty breaks from all corners of the globe.  I don’t know where or how Chuck does his research but I’m really happy he shares the results of his auditory sleuthery.  This mix is free for download or you can purchase a cassette.  Grab your hiking boots and yellow sports walkman and lets hit the road….

The last mix here from Buffalo badmen SwaggleRock.  It’s pretty heavy oriented to what you might expect to hear in the club, with a healthy dose of Hip Hop and Trap.  These guys adeptly go back and forth between electronic and street sounds giving a pretty accurate sonic portrait of what young people in the US are looking for these days.  Basically this is what I should be hearing youngbloods pumping in their whips.   Pop to that!!!
