You know we love Thom on this blog, first and foremost because of his genius music creations as a solo artist and also with his band Radiohead. Secondly, because like us, his ears are open to a lot of different types of music and he’s always trying new things and that’s kinda like what we try to do too.
Here’s a great 1 hour radio interview that he did for Alec Baldwin’s radio show via Pitchfork:
On this week’s episode of Alec Baldwin’s WNYC radio show, “Here’s the Thing”, the “30 Rock” star’s special guest is Thom Yorke. The pair talk for almost an hour about, among many, many other things, the first time Yorke used computers to make music, their shared background with political activism, and why Yorke needs a break after Atoms for Peace‘s tour winds up. There’s plenty of ace, nerdy factoids too: Ed O’Brien got his in with Radiohead because the 16-year old Yorke appreciated how “he was dressed like Morrissey and had some cool socks.” Listen above, or read the entire transcript here.
Watch some great footage of Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich DJing at New York City’s Le Poisson Rouge recently:
