Already a huge fan of this dude when his management sent me a 3 track EP earlier this year that blew my mind. This is a huge talent to rival the likes of Jon Hopkins, deep atmospheric lo fi electronic vybz with gorgeous and breathtaking melodies.
Don’t sleep on this dude, he is part of the future.
New Piggyback Management signing, Atom Tree (formerly Atomic League) is an Electronica Act fronted and produced by 23 year old Glaswegian Shaun Canning. The music transcends genres, blending organic tones with electronic pulses, submerging the listener in beautifully haunting soundscapes.
Although in its infancy Atom Tree has already been played by a number of radio stations up and down the country including making 3 separate dj’s playlists in the one month on Amazing radio, as well as featuring on Glasgow’s Music City Radio, Jim Gellatly’s New Music show, Heartland FM, Salford city FM, as well as recently on Ally McCrae and Vic Galloway, who confirmed there was a great response, within the BBC, as well as from listeners. After blowing away the crowd at Broadcast with percussionist Michael Robertson, supporting Com Truise, then playing King Tuts recently, Fergus Cook from Edinburgh band Discopolis, was so impressed by the show, he asked if he could write and sing vocals with Atom Tree. Fergus will be now featured on vocals as part of the line up.
2013 is set to be a big year for Atom Tree, with a debut EP release out October 14th(still tba) on Glasgow home grown label Hotgem, managed by Clair Crawford and Joe Muggs.
