You can grab a free download of the new PENGUINSRISING single lead track right now.

Described by the NME as a:

‘glorious teenage mess’, this is an in-your-face, blow-by-blow account of what happened when someone asked to turn the music down.”

True Story

HATEMALE SINGLE:

‘HateMale’ combines expansive soundscapes and pulsating rhythms, tied together with Sshh’s commanding and seductive vocals, as she bellow’s “No I won’t turn the music down”. The driving instrumentals delivered by Starkey and Weyler, create an undeniable energy reminscent to previous psychedelic trailblazers such as Primal Scream, Bowie and Siouxsie & The Banshees.

You can also catch them live at FAC251 in Manchester this Saturday with DJ support from one of their most ardent supporters, Tom Meighan of Kasabian.

Even, The Sun, one of the UK’s biggest national newspapers got in on the act calling “Hatemale” as one of its HOT TRACKS of the week:

If you missed it, here’s your chance to catch the video again.

Mayur from the Bandish Projekt makes a cameo appearance in the video alongside the band but the main star is the enigmatic Perry Benson best known for his roles in the British films Quadrophenia, Scum, Alien Autopsy, This Is England and Mum & Dad. Benson also appeared as Sex Pistols drummer Paul Cook in the 1986 biopic Sid And Nancy.

Already creating waves across the Atlantic, UK trio PENGUINSRISING, comprised of The Who and ex-Oasis drummer, Zak Starkey (guitar), Sshh Liguz (lead vox & harmonica) and ex-Stereophonics drummer Javier Weyler (drums), are together creating a powerful and enigmatic force of rock n’ roll at its most dynamic.

The band are currently working on their debut album and plan to tour India and the U.S.A later this year. In the meantime, UK fans will be able to catch them live for the release party of their forthcoming single ‘Hatemale’ at these two gigs with Kasabian’s Tom Meighan headlining the bill with a DJ set.
