Judged by Nick Argon (USA) / Bun Zero (Belgium) / Will Blaze & THC (UK) / Twisted (Germany)

Calling all bass heads, do you dabble in dubstep and beyond?  Fancy the chance to get the warped bass and twisted styles of you’re latest productions heard by a hand-picked selection of the scene’s tastemakers?  Then read on, as this November Nick Argon (USA), Bun Zero (Belgium), Will Blaze & THC (UK) and Twisted (Germany) have joined forces with Carbon Logic to curate an EP of the finest international dubstep.

Having already run competitions across other genres, the Carbon Logic crew continue to keep things simple – just upload your tracks (there’s no limit on number) via www.carbonlogic.co.uk for the chance to make the final cut.  The panel of international aficionados’ mission is to then select a ten-track shortlist of the best uploads, to create the first ever Carbon Logic EP.

So what are they looking for? Original, innovative and outstanding offerings.  Whether your lab is a full blown studio or a corner of your bedroom, as any girl will tell you it’s what you do with it that counts, so we’ve created as level a playing field as possible and want to hear from all of you.  The EP aims to unearth the best unsung music worming its way out of and inspired by the current scene, and running until November there’s plenty of time to get to work.

And even if you’re not a dubstep maker yourself, sign up to www.carbonlogic.co.uk for the chance to listen to and comment on the entries.  As well as their own impeccable ears, the judges will be listening to what users have to say, so make yourself heard…

After just one month the Grassroots Dubstep Competition on Carbon Logic has already attracted over 200 original tracks bringing the “Dubstep” total to 380 and counting and we’re only a third of the way in.

In response to the sheer quality and quantity of uploads Carbon Logic has expanded its plans, in order to showcase a broader selection of outstanding new bass music and will now be releasing a twelve track digital compilation LP, alongside the Grassroots Dubstep EP.

Carbon Logic is also proud to announce that it will be donating its profits from sales of the Grassroots Dubstep releases to Love Music Hate Racism.  Music unites us, gives us strength, and offers a vibrant celebration of our multicultural and multiracial society. Racism seeks only to divide and weaken us. Love Music Hate Racism uses the positive energy of the music scene to fight back against the racism being pushed by Nazi organisations like the BNP. Carbon Logic fully supports their mission.

Saturday 5th December 2009 brings the pre-release party for the Grassroots Dubstep EP and the Grassroots Dubstep Compilation LP at Carbon Logic’s massive bass-tinged 3rd Birthday Bash at The Rhythm Factory, London, UK.

Carbon Logic Winners will play alongside headliners working at the cliff face of today’s progressive bass music scene.  Expect a collision of supreme dance floor bass action with mutant explorations treading the fringe of the splintering dubstep scene – all mixed and fixed together for an unforgettable all night party!

Test pressings of the EP and exclusive hand-printed CD versions of the digital LP will also be available for the first time on the night, so check back soon for exclusive line up details…
