I’ve been following the Dirty Dubsters on Soundcloud since I heard their version of ‘Music Makers From Jamaica’ by The Gladiators that includes a break with a classic Barrington Levy vocal sample. Unfortunately, the track isn’t a free download… but there is link to buy it at Juno (which I have mixed feelings about since the Gladiators track is so prominent and crucial to the cut). But none-the-less… it’s a dope version!

Check out the original Gladiators tune if you’re not already familiar with it.

The next tune that really caught my ear is their new Drum-n-Bass mashed with Calyspo gem. Again it’s a version that relies heavily on the original sampled tune titled ‘Rum & Coca Cola’ by the Andrew Sisters (The Andrew Sisters didn’t write the song though – it was written by Lord Invader and Lionel Belasco – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rum_and_Coca-Cola). The Dubsters call their track Good Fine Time (Dubsters DnB Swing Mix).

The Good Fine Time tune is available on their new ep ‘Don’t Mean A Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing’ (A title culled from the mega classic tune by Duke Ellington.)
