Lowdjo from Brussels, just like always, is back with another fresh mix. He was inspired by psychedelic rock music with Turkish roots from the 70’s.
Here is the latest release:
He said uploading the mix was one of the hardest things he’s ever done. Here is what he told us:
During the summer, i started to get into different types of music, and the one i’ve been mostly focused on is Psychedelic rock. Not just any normal psychedelic rock though, it was specifically turkish rock.
If you know me, you probably know that i listen to music 24/7, and i love discovering new releases from upcoming artists. While i was listening to these new psychedelic Turkish rock songs, i realized a lot of them sound very similar to some tracks released by The Gaslamp Killer & Gonjasufi. The only difference i could hear was the voice-over and the slight alteration.
Anyways, i thought i was just tripping and i didn’t think too much of it.
Since i upload almost all the new finds on my soundcloud account, i decided to upload some of the new turkish psychedelic tracks to it, however i was face to face with a huge suprise.
I got a message saying “This content is blocked because of copyright infringement. The track you’re trying to upload is recognized as “The Gaslamp Killer – Kobwebs” and belonged to Milan Records.
I submitted a counter-notice to let them know that the whole idea of this is to shake up the discussion about copyright and sampling. I also included some links to the tracks i found and their track so they can compare the differences.
Well, it’s been more than a month and they haven’t bothered to reply yet.
I decided to take the matters on my own hands, so i edited the track to include the Cassetteboy’s Parker Tapes at the start of the mix, that way the copyright bot wouldn’t catch it.
It worked! I managed to upload my favorite turks on soundcloud. Enjoy the mix!
