This man is very special to me, this is my brother Hossam.

Hossam has collaborated with a whole host of peeps including members of Led Zeppelin (unledded album & tour), Peter Gabriel (Last temptation of Christ & etc) Shakira, Jay-Z, Ricky Martin, Martin Solveig, Cheb Khaled, Rachid Taha and the list goes on and on and on……

In addition to all of these remarkable collaborations he has had a very succesful and distinguished solo career, being hailed as the King of Bellydance, and is one of the world’s leading percussionists, bar none.

Just last year we hung out again and spoke about some wonderful things including this album, the Egyptian Buena Vista equivalent and something else, which I hope to work on soon one day concerning this man’s brilliant music.

It’s guys like Hossam who really musically excite me.  Man, they have learned their craft, spent years and years aiming to perfect it, not because they want to be famous but because they feel a need to have to do so.  They do it for the craft itself, it’s a genuine statement, the TRUTH!

I am waiting in awe for his new project to drop featuring some of the world’s finest musicians, A. R . Rahman, Billy Cobham, Omar Faruk Tekbilek, Manu Katche, Joji Hirota, Nahini Doumbia and  many others.

A project that has been “10 years” in the making and as he says:

“It will be spectacular – perfection takes time”!!!

This is a short official video about the new project (followed by an unofficial video of the Hossam song that Jay-Z sampled, which you all should be familiar with & ending with his collab with Solveig).
