Akwaaba, one of our most favourite Global Roots music labels.  They’re definitely coming out with some of the most exciting stuff atm that both appeals to good old fashioned “World Music” afficianado’s and also to the Global Bass headz, which is quite an accomplishment, I would say.

Plus head honcho, Benjamin, is a super cool and positive guy and we like that a lot.

Here’s their latest remix release with an additional supa-xclusive bonus for Generation Bass headz, a supa-cool free, free-twenty Moombahton remix!

Azingele Remixed by Akwaaba Music

In 2010 Ruff-N-Smooth have taken Ghana by storm with a string of hits, the last of which was Azingele in late 2010. The song talks about… don’t hold your breath: girls. Although the duo boasts a decidedly modern, fairly consumerist style, they lament over the materialistic turn that relationships seem to be taking in Ghana.

Joined on the track by Ghana’s number one Francophone flavor dispenser, SK Blinks, we’ve been fortunate to give the acapella a spin with an army of producers from all over the world. We were truly amazed with the musical diversity of the remix submissions we received, and we deeply thank all participants!!
