OOOOH! brand new from my dear buddies at Dubs Alive, a label near and dear to San Francisco. Label owner and dub master Bakir sent this over exclusively with two free downloads for Generation Bass from bandmate Dubsworth.
Dubsworth lays on deep garage vibes and solid sub dub here with his two free contributions for Generation Bass to support this release
The second release from Dubs Alive’s sister label, TUBA, features the deep and intense sound of the UK’s J:Kenzo. His A side track, Nocturnal Feelings Is a dark, serious work that brilliantly juxtaposes hard bass lines, frantic percussion, and atmospheric depth.
The B side debuts The Spit Brothers on vinyl with Beg to Differ, a sub driven, meditative, and minimalistic affair.
The record closes with DJG’s Reformat of Beg to Differ. This forward thinking track showcases DJG’s intelligent approach to bass music. His reformat balances the deep with the dance oh-so-well.

Born and Raised in Kent (South East England) Kenzo was highly influenced by the sounds of both Jungle and Garage and took up DJing back way back in 1995. In 2005 he was introduced to the emerging dubstep scene and decided it was time to get in the studio and start putting his ideas to his own music, making his production debut in 2007 on Soul Shakerz with a release entitled ‘Tekno Bass’. He has seen his tracks played by many of the top dj’s in the scene including Caspa and Skream and has had the production ‘Cosmo’ feature on the Latest Ministry of Sound CD mixed by The Cut Up Boys. Releases with Dub Police, Argon Records, 2nd Drop and his own Soul Shakerz imprint have made his productions available worldwide. With an increasing fanbase and more tracks soon to be released on Argon, Dub Police and Gangsta Boogie, accompanied with resident plays at London’s prestigious ‘Fabric’ nightclub as well a cities such as Las Vegas, Brussels, Ayia Napa, Seattle & Birmingham recently being blessed with his sounds, the heat is steadily rising around the Kent-based selector. J:Kenzo takes pride with his DJ sets which he is ever evolving and are built for the dancefloor. Expect to hear Sub Heavy Dubstep with echoes of jungle, dancehall and house…….
Biography: Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Dean J. Grenier A.K.A DJG landed in the world of Dubstep in 2007 with his first 12” “Shadow Skanking” b/w “Joyful Sound” on Narco.Hz. Immediate support on Rinse FM and in the clubs from DJ’s like N-Type propelled DJG to the forefront of American dubstep producers early in his career.
DJG’s production style is richly melodic, emotive while full of groove and energy. Recognized early on for a more dubwise sound, DJG’s recent productions have revealed an evolution in his music, getting deeper into bass-heavy, tech-drenched, soulful tracks like the much-anticipated February ‘09 release “Bunker” b/w “Apophenia” on Tube10 and “Avoid The Noid” b/w “Duality” on Pushing Red. DJs ranging from Mary Anne Hobbs, N-Type, Joe Nice, Pinch, Headhunter, LD, Quest, Skream, RSD, 2562, Djunya, Random Trio and many more have been supporting DJG’s recent and forthcoming releases on labels Wheel&Deal, Transistor, Pushing Red, Warm Communications amongst others.
With over 13 years djing experience, when DJG gets behind the decks, his passion for the music he plays is obvious. His enthusiasm for the deeper side of dubstep and his affection for dance floor selections makes each set a spontaneous combination of the highs and lows that the sound has to offer.
