THE GLOBAL MASHUPS project continues! – this means we bring couples of artists together, in Tilburg, Holland during the Incubate festival, 12-18 sept 2011. We’ll supply them with a working spot and they will work here on music for a day, presenting the results live, at night. The following day we will repeat this at another venue in Holland, WORM, Rotterdam and another one in Amsterdam called Smart Project Space.

The show will be recorded in video and audio and will be posted in your trusted GENERATION BASS of course! I’ll be presenting the participants to you this week!

Swahili lyrics accompanied by the skwee sound? That is what you call a global mash-up! The X Plastaz with Steve Rutta bringing their Tanzanian hip-hop sound mixing their origin masaai music with an occasional chant. The Masaai music brings a wardrobe with it, X-plastaz and Steve Rutta do go on stage wearing the traditional Masaai clothing. They will work with the Finnish skwee artist, Randy Barracuda, whose songs have the right hooks and the likeable but awkward melodies. Songs like “The Streisand effect” and “Rick James is Dead” are funny song titles for the skwee sounds he produces but it makes it all the more fun. Curious about hearing a song named “The ketamine strut” with Swahili chants going through them? Be sure not to miss out on this. X-plastaz/Steve Rutta’s “Bongo Flava” in the remix with the Finnish Skweeeee sounds from Randy Barracuda!! check out their stuffffff:
