Been on a bit of a nostalgia trip recently and have been re-discovering some of my old mixes pre-Generation Bass. Most of them, for one reason or another, seem to go back to 2007, as does this one. Luckily, for me, and unluckily for you, I had uploaded them onto Official Fm (formerly known as Fairtilizer) almost 4 years ago. Had I not done that, most of them would be lost by now.
So here’s another I thought would be fitting for this Generation Chill series. Not all Ambient but I just couldn’t resist calling it “Umbient”. Complete with my old logo describing my full DJ name, which I rarely use anymore, and my travelling companion!
Sorry, there’s no tracklist as, foolishly, I did not make one at the time but it includes tracks by Beats Antique, Felix Le Brand, Air and Cinematic Orchestra amongst other stuff.
Here’s what I said at the time:
A kind of psychedelic foray into semi-ambient, Morricone inspired cinematic collages of quite simple sounding but complex and ever-beautiful tunes that just seem to work together so well.
Featuring chilled cuts from Argentina, UK, Russia, Greece, France, USA and other parts of Europe…
