Described by the NME as a:

‘glorious teenage mess’, this is an in-your-face, blow-by-blow account of what happened when someone asked to turn the music down.”

PENGUINSRISING are here to shock and thrill you. This is rock n’ roll at its most dynamic and forceful, full of passion, love, anger and aggression – a blissful violation of the senses, combining powerhouse percussion, cascading guitars and soulful vocals to form a fearsome psychedelic monsoon.

The first Rock band signed to Generation Bass and what a band it is.  They have already previously toured as support act for Kasabian and Liam Gallagher’s Beady Eye.

First up we have, the dynamic Sshh, the singer/vocalist and she also plays harmonica. She is one of the world’s greatest front women and this bold claim will be recognized in due course.

The drummer in this band is the exceptional  Javier Weyler who was in one of the UK’s biggest rock acts, Stereophonics and he sets this band alight from the back.  Javier has also worked with Glen Matlock from the Sex Pistols and Phil Manzanera (Roxy Music)

It’s such a supergroup that it includes one of the world’s best drummers, Zak Starkey who was voted 57th best drummer in the world by Rolling Stone a few years back but of course we know he deserves to be much higher than that.

Not only is he one of the world’s best drummers but he has also been in some of the biggest rock bands known to the world, The Who (1996-2013) and Oasis (2004 – 2008) amongst others including occasional appearances with Kasabian.  Not only that but he is also the son of Beatle, Ringo Starr!!!  In PENGUINSRISING however, he plays guitar and what a mean guitar he can play too!

This is a powerful trio of amazing musicians and songwriters who are making some of the most exciting, powerful and enigmatic Rock music around in these times and we feel very honoured that they have chosen Generation Bass as their home.
