Dutch producer Sonido Del Principe aka Vince the Prince co-owns a cultural hub of electronic media by the name Generationbass.com and also Incubate Festival in the Netherlands.
He is one of the most significant Nu Cumbia dudes to hit the scene in recent times. He is also one of the most imitated Nu Cumbia dudes and the kinds of sounds he has been dropping since in or about 2009 have always been way ahead of the curve that even now they still sound so futuristic.
Albeit, Nu Cumbia is not only his bag as he is a versatile producer, he always drops some of the coolest Nu Cumbia cuts on earth every now and then.
His love for Cumbia all started when Maga Bo left a couple of mixtapes in the Netherlands, on one of them was a cumbia track, El Hijo De La Cumbia’s edit of La Mara Tomasa. That one kinda got him hooked. Then a couple of months later, Sonido Martines was in the Netherlands and gave him 2 more mixtapes, then he was really hooked. He remembers playing a Vampiros Deejay mixtape for months on end!
He gets inspired by new sounds man, new stuff he discovers online or old records he finds at the local fleamarket or garage sales. He says, Of course, the fact that a lot of peeps are online these days and everybody sends each other new tracks and mp3’s helps out a lot as well. It’s just great that everybody wants to share their music this way, there’s no ego thing, it’s just all 4 da love of cumbia!
He hopes CUMBIA will go a bit bigger, not really large, but big enough to throw some decent parties and get the people moving.
To this day, he is still one of the most significant Nu Cumbia dudes on the planet.
