Last sunday in Rio de Janeiro, happened the Rio Parada Funk 2012 – second edition. We’re there to cover the event, and bring to blog some sets of Rio Parada and a special gift, a full album of team Chatubão Nuclear!!
Rio Parada Funk is a event to tell the history of funk with the “equipes de Som” (Sound System Team). This year, there is 8-9 teams around the square, plus the main stage. This event is to call the attention of Media and Authority that UPP (Police Pacification Unit) which is trying to kill the culture of Funk, there isn’t sucess in the mission. Because baile funk still alive, with great musicians and great producers sending more and more music to all Rio de Janeiro and Wolrd.
The event is more to be a protest than to be a place to show new artists, or hype artists from funk carioca. It was more easier to see the old school Mc’s, as Cidinho from Rap da Felicidade, Junior e Leonardo from Rap das Armas, then to see Mr. Catra, or Valeska Popozuda.
Now, lets listen to some voltmix!!!
We’re there, and we record some great set. Dj Rafael Pitbull is a big example of it:
Set with original baile funk, from Rio de Janeiro! Another great set is from Mc Marcinho, the most lover singer from funk carioca.
Mc Cidinho was with dj and producer Wladimir Gasper, and they played a kind of Neo Funk, with big influence of French House. For tecnicals reason, the performance was interrupted in middle of it.
Another good Set from Funk Carioca is from famous dj Cabide. He is a kind of king of MPC in Rio, considered the best dj-mpc. We arrived in the middle of the Set and the record isn’t in 100% of quality, but can feel the vibe of it:
And there is other records in our channel of Soundcloud, you can check everything there for free.
The team of Chatubão Nuclear, from morro da Chatuba, give us a Cd with 25 tracks of funk carioca! All stuff created and produced by funkeiros from Rio de Janeiro. There is a lot of good stuff in this album and we bring it here to GenerationBass friends!!
