So it’s a back to school thing. Summer is slowly withering and the last days of beauties are giving in to the dull dim sadness of Autumn. Maybe one day i’ll feel some tenderness and a feeling of romantic compassion watching falling leaves but for the moment i do not share this gentry feeling for wetness and coldness, and i truly wish never to enjoy walking my dog in a September park. So today is the day of our fight for the ailing light, the soft chaos of summertime, fragile sounds for fragile summer…

A few months ago it was holiday time in France. People complaining about us not working can feel comforted in their feelings, from mid-june to the beginning of September only a few kids are still struggling at school despite their parents efforts to take them away to long distanced sunny beaches or exotic Mediterranean islands. I did not leave Paris, it’s actually extremely pleasant to work in this city in summer, things are slowed down, terraces are adorned with smiles and laughters and happy amazed tourists always remind you that the French capital is not that dirty or ugly. So floating on that careless feeling i have to admit i let many things go under my radar. Hopefully it’s never too late with music…

Daedalus published on his Soundcloud end of June a beautiful Juke remix of Don’t Forget , faithful to his own way of making music, off balanced, mysterious and mesmerizing.

Here his words about it :

The original by Sir Michael Rocks, to which I’ve put on layers of varnish and ‘work. It is uptempo and a little lost in a mix, but the sentiment as with all these Pacific mixes is adrift in the large ocean out there.

Released on the 23rd of July No Doubt from the EP Distance will certainly please sweet UK/Future Garage lovers as its main ingredients house style vocals and discreet synth bass lines blend perfectly to relieve the mind from troubles and let the thoughts wander freely.

Lil Silva also produced the second track of Banks new EP London.

His remix of Little Nikki Says released as a preview for the forthcoming EP Little Nikki Says announced for the 20th of October is a masterpiece of sweetness.
Little Nikki – Little Nikki Says (Jonas LR Remix)

Tuff Culture Ft Saffire D’Soul – Didnt You Know

Synonymous of fragility, Twigs, her soft voice, her mysterious look, will certainly dig deep into your heart to capture and exhume some strong and long forgotten feelings you might have burried. The video has been online for a month or so and the good news is that her EP2 produced in collaboration with Arca is available since the 9th of this month on Young Turks label.

Preserving the essence and quality of her previous EP released in December last year, this new release is a must have.

Ache from EP by FKA Twigs

Always managing to craft beautiful tracks made of ethereal vocals and light musical arrangements, Stumbleine pursues the perfect mix of his previously released track on the Ghosting album.

Jon Hopkins meeting Purity Ring, what would be the result ? Good, not as good as i hoped, i do find the uplifting elements i loved in his Insides album, but the track works fine (it’s actually a re-version).

Jon Hopkins – Breathe This Air feat. Purity Ring

F ∆ U X E

A crossover between futuristic instrumental RnB, jazzy pop – the drums remind me so much of Cinematic Orchestra -, and #Seapunk this track will give some attitude to your lounge mix.

This is a pay what you want download so no excuse !

There is another great release on F ∆ U X E’s Bandcamp page, a Nostalgia EP

This EP which deserves to be an album contains great tracks and remixes like the one of William Fitzsimmons ft Priscilla AhnI don’t feel it anymore

What i could not get from Jon Hopkins i knew that Odesza would provide. Blogged many times on Generation Bass, the man never fails to ravish my ears.

ODESZA – My Friends Never Die

Kodiak – Dragon Drop EP [HOTSHIT002] Hot Haus Recs

From the snippet i expect much of this EP. Hope it will be out soon. Only pre-order with no specific date is available.

Here the words from the Press Release :

London’s Kodiak arrive at Hot Haus Recs HQ with their first release of 2013. Since releasing one of 2012’s most hyped releases Spreo Superbus (on numbers) Kodiak have returned to UTTU’s Hot Haus Recs with Dragon Drop, an epic slice of neo-rn’b futurism, a no hold barred Chicago house slammer Egyptian Kings, plus a bonus remix from Eliphino who also had one of 2012’s breakthrough tracks with More Than Me.

Yes finally Banks. I love her music. Whatever the comparison with Lana del Rey may be, she delivers more sensuality and glam to my opinion. Moreover she’s got clever collaborations.

BANKS – This Is What It Feels Like (Prod. Lil Silva & Jamie Woon)

Banks – Warm Water (Snakehips Remix) (Extended)

This track is a free release. Sounding a bit like AlunaGeorge but far from being bad, this remix will cheer you up !
