Mr. Gasparov is by far one of my favorite Portuguese producers and probably the one that made me went deep on the Bass Music and on a more national level, the Lisbon Bass scene, where back in the days the new paths of Dubstep and Global Bass were still in the making. In my sincere opinion, a crew of Portuguese producers with Mr. Gasparov inside played one of the most important roles in the mutations of Dubstep and Bass Music scene from 2005 to 2010 around the globe. The true is that he still is one of the most innovative producers, searching always to break barriers in music.

Last year he released “Obsession”  EP for free in Abstractor, label headed by the Venezuelan duo Pocz & Pacheko. The EP almost touches  perfection with irreproachable and tight production and completion. Asides the heavy and hybrid bass, excellence of all the EP, he left some cues for his next works with the tracks such as Obsession and Baker Street, pointing to a more progressive and brawny bass level.

Now Mr. Gasparov is back with a 2 tracks EP, Ground and Manjerico on the very new label Dissipate manged by another great artist, Klipar.

Check what Dissipate says.

” Coming from Lisbon, Portugal, Pedro Mendes aka Mr Gasparov, has lived in the past decade between Bristol and Barcelona and has absorbed the best from both undergrounds. He is part of IBERIAN RECORDS and Steak House, and was a founder of Barcelonas’s 1st dubstep nights back in 2007 -> The B.LOW nights, as well as an original resident in Sub FM‘s THE CHORIZO SHOW. Back in those days, one of his best tracks – entitled 1975 – was hand picked by Soul Jazz for one of those “Steppas’s Delight” compilations (and you can still feel the bristol-sound-vibe in it). With this said, we are proud to announce his new EP Ground/Manjerico. Slower than his usual, Mr Gasparov presents two tracks, deep smooth techno influenced by the very low frequencies. Constant, yet, groovy rhytms, lfilthy basslines patterns in aerodynamic flux with atmospheric chords and arcing pads, basically a voyage to his influences from the past and present, which gives dancers with more option in his vast catalog.”
