Described by Branko from Buraka Som Sistema as the producer who best epitomizes what Zouk Bass is suppose to sound like, Dance Kill Move brings that definitive Zouk Bass sound to Generation Bass with this killa 4 track “Numbers” EP.
It was free for a while but not anymore, now you must grab it from one of the Digital Stores and you can also now grab it in Wav quality too.
The tracks titles are based around Numbers:
ZoukETTe in swedish
The EP contains 2 tracks that were previously available and 2 never before heard tracks. “Zoukette” was one of the first tracks that dropped straight after that infamous Boiler Room and we were onto it fast. For us it perfectly captured the essence of “Zouk Flute” as foretold by Buraka Som Sistema and even sounded like its little sister companion. “Dedos” has that eerie vibe that sounds like you’re going slowly up a gigantic hill and you reach the summit and down you tumble again. “Fouk” is not meant to be rude as the title suggests, it actually was meant to represent the number 4 in English but DKM thought “Fouk” sounded better than “Four”and it is a manic lil’ number! “Fermetta” is like Zoukette’s lil’ baby sister, the youngest of the siblings.
Dance Kill Move is a Swedish/Colombian dj/producer based in Uppsala Sweden. Consisting of Ricardo Ocampo Daza. DKM started out as an Electro act back in 2007 but shifted focus more and more towards tropical bass. In 2010 after a trip to Colombia DKM won a remix competition for Akwaaba Music making him a part of the Tropical Bass world. After that there have been numerous productions both in Moombahton and other genres staying true to the Latino influence coming from his roots as a Colombian. When Buraka Som Sistema made their huge Boiler Room set presenting Zouk Bass to the world, Ricardo instantly fell in love with the rhythm and started producing Zouk bass. Soon after Branko from B.S.S. among others picked up DKM’s track ‘Zoukette’ and thus positioning him as one of the big names in Zouk Bass. As a Dj in he has driven several clubs (Club New Kid, Smålands Live, Tabberas, GLHF) in Uppsala as well as having residencies at up to 5 different venues. He’s played with and warmed up to artists such as Marcus Price & Carli, Style of Eye, Copyflex, The Very Best, Nääk & Nimo, Adam Tensta, Linda Pira, Mashup International among others. The kind of music he plays depends on the occasion but at the moment the genres that mainly build up his sets are Zouk Bass, Hip Hop, Dancehall and other Tropical Bass genres.
