Azar Swan released an album late last year, “Dance Before The War”, that is  one of the best albums I’ve heard in years. It sort of combines a bit of everything that I really love, Kate Bush, The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Bauhaus and a part of Afghan culture too!

I’ve said it before, it’s no pastiche or homage but a refreshing take on music of that 80’s era that feels so damn right at this present moment in time. Their new album is due out later this year and it’s one of my most anticipated releases of this year.

In the meantime, you can check out a great new video of a track from the aforementioned album called “Over” with its amazing drums and vocals and eerie 80’s synth sounds that kinda provide me with a deep warmth whenever I hear them.   Maybe because they take me back to “Disintegration” by The Cure that has had such an enormous impact upon my life.

The video gives a nod to German Expressionism with the lovely vocalist Zohra Atash appearing as the Goth Goddess, that she is, chasing spirals and crescents!

My most favourite band in the entire universe right now!!
