Netherlands homie Subp Yao sent me this a few days ago but just got around to giving it a blast and man it is quite something.

You might recall us supporting his brilliant “Gunshottaflows” track back in November last year, which we described as “a cross between Busta Rhymes, Die Antwoord, Dub Phizix and the industrial sounding aspects of Zouk Bass!“.

Seems like the homie has been working damn hard as his new material testifies.  The lead track from his “City of Dreams” EP is one featuring South African Cata. Pirata from Skip&Die and it is called “So Wild“.

It’s a sublime slice of funky dance sounds that includes some really groovy Zoukesque percs and Yelloesque synth stabs and even veers a little towards Borneo Bass too in a Big Room stylee!  The vox take me back to the best of Bow Wow Wow!
