This sounds like an amazing release by Francis Bebey, a Cameroonian artist who’s been making music since the late 60’s. Primarily guitar-based, he was regarded as a bit of an innovator merging Cameroonian Makossa with classical guitar, jazz, and pop.

This is a retrospective of his work from 2 year period in the 80’s and man, it still sounds phenomenal, celebrating his more stripped, rhythm-driven, and atmospheric workouts.

It’s available in a number of different formats and a bit on the high side for vinyl but you’re not gonna get that many records that sound quite like this.
